TANKOA UNVEILS 70M TANKOA MILANO SUPERYACHT AT DIBS 2024

Italy-based yacht builder Tankoa Yachts has unveiled the renderings for a new 70-metre superyacht concept, Tankoa Milano T700 during the Dubai International Boat Show 2024.

Milano has been developed together with Nauta Design and features clean, elegant lines. She embodies the epitome of Italian craftsmanship and engineering prowess, marking an expansion of the Tankoa range.

“This project means a further step in the growth and consolidation phase that makes Tankoa one of the top players in the construction of luxury superyachts,” commented Vincenzo Poerio, CEO of Tankoa Yachts.

Named after the city of Milano, the Tankoa Milano superyacht draws inspiration from the hometown of Nauta Design. Her design reflects various aspects of the city, with sleek lines, a contemporary profile, and sophisticated aesthetics.

“As the hometown of Nauta Design and synonymous of elegance, aesthetic sensibility and intelligent design, Milan serves as a fitting symbol—a place where creative ideas manifest into concrete realities,” explained Tankoa Yachts.

The main deck of Milano features an open-air lounge area, which seamlessly connects to her beach area by a central staircase, as well as her main indoor saloon and dining area.

The upper deck is dedicated solely to the owner, providing a private oasis for them to relax in comfort. The owners suite boasts a vast master stateroom, with breathtaking forward views, a walk-in closet, his-and-hers bathrooms and an office area.

The owner also benefits from access to a private pool and helipad at her bow, while a skylounge and alfresco dining area can be found aft.

Two VIP staterooms can be found further forward on the main deck, featuring fold-out terraces. The remaining guest staterooms are situated on the lower deck, consisting of four suites. The Tankoa Milano superyacht can also carry a crew of 12, with the crew mess, laundry facilities and a crew gym on the lower deck.

On the bridge deck, in addition to the wheelhouse, there is the captain's cabin and a cinema room for guests’ entertainment. The sundeck features another alfresco lounge area with bar, sunbeds and two L-shaped, forward-facing sofas, providing the perfect setting to relish the awe-inspiring panoramas.

A key defining feature of Milano is her stern area, which has been designed to captivate guests before they step onboard. The area includes an expansive beach club, with a lounge and convertible gym, a relaxation area featuring a sauna and massage room, and folding hull platforms that open at sea level.

“The stretched horizontal lines establish a seamless connection with the sea's surface and the horizon, providing an intimate connection with the natural environment,” added Mario Pedol, Nauta Design Co-founder. “She embodies a reinvention of clean forms and harmonious volumes, resulting in a visual effect of lightness, purity, and serenity.”

Milano also features a large swimming pool, alongside an expansive sun lounging area, which can be customised to meet the owners needs. The side bulwarks can be lowered to further expand the beach club, providing a spectacular private sea lounge, offering additional space to relax.

In order to accommodate her guests, the engine room of the Tankoa Milano superyacht has been placed under the lower deck, allowing guests to have direct access to the beach club on the lower deck.

In terms of performance, Milano is in line with Tankoa's commitment to sustainable technologies. She features a diesel-electric propulsion system, with four Caterpillar C32 variable speed generators, supplying electrical energy to two e-motors.

These e-motors are capable of enabling her a top speed of 16.5 knots, boasting 1650kW of energy to power the hotel load. The Tankoa yacht is also equipped with fuel cells providing up to 200kW of power.

Tankoa is partnering with leading suppliers to integrate methanol fuel cells, which currently offer the best combination of sustainability, comfort and safety. This initiative remains open to future advancements in technologies for secure and efficient hydrogen storage.

“Fusing cutting-edge technology with meticulous attention to details, the 70-metre Milano embodies our vision for excellence. Collaborating with Nauta Design, with whom we share a rich history of mutual respect and friendship spanning three decades, is truly gratifying,” concluded Vincenzo Poerio.
