First private French yacht designed by one of the most famous French naval architects, André MAURIC, the M/Y LA BOUFFONNE was built between in 1958 at the Chantier de l'Estérel in Cannes according to the draconian standards and constraints of the manufacture of ships of the French Navy. LA BOUFFONNE remained in the the first owner's hands for a period of 30 years. In 1998, her 3rd and last owner, Mr François GIRAUDET, a passionate yachtsman and ex President for France of the 27th and 28th editions of the America's Cup, was able to keep the original spirit while equipping it over time with essential modern equipments.
