DIBS: DUBAI IS THRIVING AS THE INTERNATIONAL BOAT SHOW GEARS UP FOR ITS 28TH INSTALMENT

If you’re a superyacht enthusiast then Dubai Harbour is the place to be this week, as the 28th edition of the Dubai International Boat Show is set to open its doors this coming Wednesday. More than 400 boats will be berthed at the Dubai Harbour between the 9th-13th March, fifty of which will be superyachts built by the leading names in the industry: Feadship, Majesty, Nomad, Cranchi, Lürssen, and many more. Numerous superyacht unveils will also take place during the five-day show.

 “As Dubai International Boat Show moves into its new home, Dubai Harbour, we look forward to enhancing Dubai’s status as an internationally renowned superyachting destination,” Trixie LohMirmand, Executive Vice President, Events Management, DWTC, said.

Dubai Harbour, the new location of the Dubai International Boat Show, has been dubbed the “emirate’s undisputed superyacht nucleus”. It is the city’s first dedicated superyacht marina and can host vessels up to 160-metres in length. In total, Dubai Harbour boasts 700 berths. 

Visitors not only have the opportunity to get up close and personal to this star-studded lineup, they also get the chance to take part in an array of day and night activities. There will be conferences and presentations running throughout the week, heaps of experiences on offer and plenty of entertainment. The show will be fully-immersive as guests can get their hands on an eclectic mix of water toys to test and try out. Being co-located with Dive MENA EXPO, there is also a chance to don a wetsuit and get involved with some of the diving activities and training.

The Dubai International Boat Show is, of course, also industry-focused. A host of networking activities will be taking place, which is designed to “boost knowledge and foster business across the industry”. The MENA region is deep-seated in the activities of yachting with the world’s second-highest fleet-to-billionaire ratio. Middle Eastern owners also account for 12.6-percent of the world’s superyacht fleet.
